Guidelines on Fasting
Fasting entails having only one full meal a day which is sufficient to maintain one's strength. Two other meatless meals are allowed, but are to be light and penitential. Everyone between 18 to 59 years of age is encouraged to enter into fasting (Health and age permitting) on this day -- to be in greater solidarity with so many in our country/world who are suffering and in need of the knowledge of God's healing presence.
Fasting along with prayer extended throughout our land, will serve to encourage an ongoing conversion of hearts which is more necessary now than any time in our recent history.
